John Donaghy has a short post on José Othmaro Cáceres, a young seminarian who was murdered in El Salvador in 1980.
His death and the death of the twelve others are just a few of the deaths by the military and death squads in El Salvador who had a deep hatred of the church leaders who had taken the side of the poor.The war in El Salvador was a war against the poor, the reformists, the revolutionaries, those who sought a better life for themselves and their families, the democrats, union workers, teachers, etc. The list goes on and on.
And it was obviously a war against church leaders who made a preferential option for the poor.
