President Alvaro Colom on Friday said he will ask the United Nations to extend the commission's mandate for four more years.I would be surprised if they didn't extend the mandate. In what form, I don't know. New responsibilities? More of a regional character? Anyway, there has been a lot of action in the last few weeks since Castresana's resignation. Hopefully, it is a sign that the Colom administration and the congress have become more helpful to investigators.
